Internet Freedom Festival. Valencia Marzo 2016
El Internet Freedom Festival (http://internetfreedomfestival.org/) es un
encuentro internacional que reúne a las comunidades más importantes que
luchan contra la censura y la vigilancia en Internet.
El año pasado celebramos en Valencia la primera edición del festival
bajo el nombre Circumvention Tech Festival
(http://circumventionfestival.es/). Este año retornamos a Valencia del 1
al 6 de marzo de 2016.
El IFF va dirigido tanto a profesionales como a aquellos que quieran
conocer más acerca de estos temas. Los contenidos del encuentro están
divididos en 8 temáticas:

2) Advocacy, Policy & Fundraising
3) Design & Usabilty
4) Diversity
5) Gender
6) Journalism & Media
7) Training & Best Practices
8) Tools & Technology
Hasta el momento, se han registrado profesionales de 47 países
diferentes y contamos con la participación de organizaciones como Tor,
Electronic Frontier Foundation, Freedom of the Press Foundation, Xnet,
Tactical Tech, Global Voices, Mozilla Foundation, Filtrala y muchas otras.

Convocatoria de los “IV Premios del Aula Prosegur”
V Convocatoria Premios Proyectos Fin de Grado y Tesinas Fin de Máster y Tesis Doctorales en el Ámbito de la Seguridad y la Ingeniería Aplicada a la Seguridad y a la Prevención
Aula Prosegur convoca la cuarta edición de los premios TRABAJOS FIN DE GRADO, TESINAS FIN DE MÁSTER Y TESIS DOCTORALES en el Ámbito de la Seguridad y la Ingeniería Aplicada a la Seguridad y a la Prevención.
La convocatoria se dirige a alumnado de ETSII, ETSID, ETSIT, ETSINF. Los alumnos interesados en esta convocatoria y que estén dentro de la materia en el ámbito de la Seguridad y la Ingeniería aplicada a la Seguridad y a la Prevención, deberán rellenar una ficha y enviarla a la dirección de correo electrónico del Director del Aula Prosegur, el Dr. César Iribarren Navarro, antes del 30 de junio 2016. ciribarr@degi.upv.es
Una vez entregada la ficha, los alumnos tendrán una segunda comunicación para citarse con el director y explicar su trabajo y fijar fecha de entrega del proyecto.
La fecha de lectura del proyecto será antes del 31 de julio de 2016 y su resolución, a lo largo de septiembre. Los premios serán de 600€ tanto para el primero, segundo como el tercer galardón.

Programa Jóvenes con Futuro de StepOne
StepOne gestiona el programa Jóvenes con Futuro que da la oportunidad a Jóvenes desarrolladores españoles trabajar en las mejores startups. El programa comenzó en 2011, llevando a jóvenes desarrolladores españoles a Silicon Valley.
En 2015 han lanzado el mismo programa pero para trabajar en startups en España. Se trata de un programa sin fin de lucro con el fin de ayudar a los jóvenes españoles a desarrollar sur carreras profesionales.

El proceso de reclutamiento concluye el próximo 20 de diciembre y el proceos de selección se llevará a cabo entre enero y febrero de 2016.
Los seleccionados se sumarán a la experiencia en startups de abril a septiembre de 2016.

PAPIs Connect Valencia — Volunteers Wanted
PAPIs Connect – Europe’s top machine learning event for decision makers – March 14-15, 2016 – Valencia, Spain
PAPIs Connect is the sister event to PAPIs, the International Conference on Predictive APIs and Apps. It focuses on how machine learning and artificial intelligence are used by companies (big and small) to create predictive apps that solve real-world problems. Typical examples are: predicting customer needs and actions, task automation, predictive maintenance, priority detection, demand prediction, etc.
Leaders from around the world will fly to Valencia to share practical presentations of innovations and business cases, where they have used machine learning to create value from their organizations’ data. Connect makes it easy to chat with speakers, other attendees and technology providers over drinks & food, and during networking events that will coincide with the Valencian Las Fallas!

We are looking for motivated volunteers to help make this a top conference! We have various roles where you could fit in: welcoming attendees (registration desk & general help), community management (mainly Twitter), covering talks with write-ups, taking photos, recording video interviews, etc. Note that it is important for some of these roles to have at least some technical knowledge.
In exchange for their help, volunteers will be able to attend the conference for free and go to presentations in their free time. We are aiming to give each volunteer the possibility to attend as many talks as possible. The more volunteers there are, the more free time they will have to attend the presentations! As a volunteer, you will also help support the conference and have the opportunity to meet and learn from experts, industry professionals, thought leaders, and each other.
